The Teaching Seminar is for both experienced and new teachers. It includes ‘hands on’ teaching practice sessions and presentations by harpists with different areas of specialty.
The course will commence 2pm on Thursday 8th January.
The Seminar consists of presentations by the attending professional teachers, who are invited to share their expertise. This may be a more formal presentation, a led discussion on a particular topic, panel discussions and other ways of sharing more informally.
Sessions on how to start a beginner at the harp are especially designed for young professional harpists starting out on their teaching journey. Alice leads sessions on how to work with beginners, including sample lessons and supervised trial lessons using Kioloa locals.
The course will conclude with a special concert at 3pm Sunday 11th January, celebrating the life of Philippa McAuliffe, beloved Kioloa participant, featuring guest harpists.
